TowPro Evolves into Total Fleet and Guest Protection with New Tracking Devices

TowPro has today announced the expansion of its product offering, marking an evolution from a specialist towing solution into an integrated monitoring, security, and toy tracking system designed to support modern superyacht operations.

From Towing System to Integrated Protection Platform

Originally introduced as a dedicated towing system for chase boats, TowPro gained traction by solving a critical operational gap onboard: the absence of real-time data and monitoring for towing chase boats during passage.

Since launch, the system has been adopted by a growing fleet of the world’s best  superyachts, including Ahpo (115m), Ulysses (103m), and Coral Ocean (73m), demonstrating early trust from captains operating at the highest levels of the industry.

Responding to increasing demand from captains and crew for greater oversight and more functionality from existing installations, TowPro is now expanding its platform and entering the vessel monitoring, security, toy and lifejacket tracking space. The move transforms TowPro from a specialist towing solution into a consolidated protection platform, reducing reliance on fragmented, standalone or portable tools.

Central to the launch is the introduction of new tracking devices designed for smaller tenders, jet skis, e-foils, and lifejackets. These new devices utilise the globally recognised Iridium GPS network to pinpoint exact coordinates and visualise the location on the bridge chartplotter.

These trackers expand visibility beyond the mothership, giving the crew a clear, real-time view of where equipment, crew and guests are, wherever they may be. As superyachts carry more toys and run increasingly active guest programmes, having this added oversight and peace of mind is becoming more important than ever.

Alongside its new trackers, TowPro has significantly enhanced its original chase boat system, delivering more onboard information and real-time alerts via VHF directly to the bridge and with a new user interface.

Through integrations with CZone and Garmin EmpirBus, the platform can now send up to 16 real-time alerts, including water depth, speed over ground (SoG), engine start, motion detectors, low battery, low fuel levels, water ingress, bilge activation, power loss, and engine overheat.

The expansion also reflects changing expectations from insurers across the industry. There is a growing focus on tools that help prevent issues before they happen and reduce the risk of claims. By bringing together monitoring, onboard security, with toy, guest and crew tracking, TowPro is designed not only to support day-to-day operations, but also to help owners demonstrate greater care and responsibility.

The platform’s evolution has been spearheaded by CTO Remi Duheille, formerly part of Apple’s engineering team responsible for the iPhone. Remi brings consumer-technology design principles and software development into the superyacht environment.

Experience TowPro at the Superyacht Technology Show

As yachts become more connected, captains are moving away from multiple separate systems and towards solutions that bring everything together on one screen.

The TowPro bridge screen allows crew to manage towing operations, monitor chase boat systems, and oversee the security of any vessel connected to the yacht, all from a single, easy-to-use interface, making daily operations simpler, clearer, and more efficient.

Romain Devismes, CEO of TowPro, commented, “With the TowPro screen installed, we’ve unlocked valuable space on the bridge and the opportunity to make this more than just a towing tool. Our goal is to turn TowPro into an everyday solution, something the crew use and value daily, not only in towing situations. This release helps us stand out in a growing market by offering a smarter, more versatile solution rather than a product that solves just one problem.”

TowPro will be exhibiting in the Startup Zone at the Superyacht Technology Show, taking place at the World Trade Centre Barcelona from 10–11 March, where the team will demonstrate its newest features and upgrades.

To mark the launch ahead of the Mediterranean season, TowPro will also be offering complimentary trackers for jet skis, tenders and toys with all new full-system installations.

Looking ahead, TowPro is developing a partnership with Garmin to integrate smartwatches for crew and wristbands for guests under the ‘TowPro Wearables’ range. Designed to provide added peace of mind, these wearable solutions will enhance the safety and protection of both guests and crew, whether onboard or ashore.
