Government Selects VoltSafe & Royal Vancouver Yacht Club for Marine Testbed

VoltSafe has been selected by the Government of British Columbia to participate in a new Marine and Coastal Testbed, delivered through Innovate BC’s Integrated Marketplace.

In partnership with the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club (RVYC), VoltSafe will deploy its smart shore power technology in a live marina environment marking a major milestone in the advancement of marine electrification infrastructure.

“British Columbia is setting the pace for marine innovation, and programs like Innovate BC’s Integrated Marketplace are critical to accelerating real-world deployment,” said Trevor Burgess, CEO and Co-Founder of VoltSafe.

“Through our collaboration with the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, this initiative enables us to validate next-generation electrification technologies in active coastal environments. It’s a powerful model for advancing safety, sustainability, and economic growth and we’re thrilled to be part of it.”

The Integrated Marketplace is designed to accelerate the adoption of made-in-B.C. technologies by enabling companies to validate and scale solutions in real-world operating conditions in an effort to strengthen the economy while driving innovation and sustainability.

VoltSafe is among a select group of innovators chosen to help address critical challenges facing British Columbia’s marine and coastal sectors.

As part of the testbed, VoltSafe will install its technology at RVYC’s Jericho Marina, creating a high-value demonstration site where safety, reliability, and performance can be proven under real-world conditions.

The deployment will generate the operational data and customer validation required to support broader adoption across marinas, ports, and waterfront infrastructure globally.

“Collaborating with innovative companies like VoltSafe allows us to evaluate and deploy new technologies in a real-world marina environment,” said Chris Barnett, Marine Assets & Operations Manager at RVYC.

“This initiative enhances safety, improves operational efficiency, and supports the transition to more sustainable marine infrastructure. We’re proud to partner in advancing practical solutions for B.C.’s coastal communities.”

For VoltSafe, participation in the testbed marks an important milestone for VoltSafe by providing real-world validation, a trusted reference partner, and a faster path to commercialization. It also strengthens VoltSafe’s position to scale globally as demand grows for modern, electrified marine infrastructure.
