Hybrid Yacht Performance fitness platform launches this May

Hybrid Yacht Performance (HYP), a marine startup, is transforming the way yacht crew train, introducing a structured, yacht-specific fitness platform designed to fit the unique demands of life at sea. Launching officially on May 1st, HYP will provide tailored training solutions to help crew stay strong, fit, and resilient onboard.

For the past six months, Sean Joyce has been trialing the app directly with yacht crew, testing what works and refining the programs to ensure they deliver real results. The feedback has been incredible, with crew members reporting noticeable transformations in their strength, endurance, and overall well-being. This hands-on approach has allowed him to fine-tune HYP into a system that truly fits the realities of yacht life, making fitness more accessible, effective, and sustainable for crew worldwide.

The HYP Crew Training App, built for the realities of yacht life, offers fully customised fitness programs based on available equipment, limited space, and ever-changing schedules. With structured strength, endurance, and mobility workouts, crew members can train consistently without the need for a full gym.

This April, HYP will debut at the Palma International Yacht Show, where founder Sean will showcase the app, connect with crew, and introduce exclusive membership packages designed to make fitness an integral part of yachting culture.

A solution built by a yachtie, for yachties

Having spent years in both the fitness and yachting industries, Sean witnessed firsthand how difficult it was for crew to maintain their health and fitness while dealing with long shifts, demanding guests, and tight quarters. With nowhere to turn for structured yacht-specific training, crew members were left to figure it out alone.

HYP changes that. The app takes away the guesswork, providing expertly designed programs that fit seamlessly into the yachtie lifestyle. Joyce understands the struggle from personal experience having trained in tight crew cabins, engine rooms, and even on deck between shifts during his five years at sea. That experience has shaped HYP into a platform that includes programming for nearly every possible onboard workout scenario, ensuring that no matter where crew are or what they have, they can still train effectively.

Membership options to transform onboard fitness

Hybrid Yacht Performance offers a range of membership options designed to fit the unique needs of individual yacht crew and entire yacht teams. Whether for individual crew members looking for structured, yacht-adapted training or for yachts looking to create a strong fitness culture onboard, there’s a solution tailored for each situation.

The platform features structured 2-month, 3-month, 4-month, and 5-month training plans that align perfectly with the most common crew rotations, including 2:2, 2:1, 3:1, 4:2, and 5:1 schedules. Each membership is designed to help yachties build strength, endurance, and resilience while seamlessly adapting to the ever-changing demands of life at sea.

What’s next for HYP?

Beyond the app, Hybrid Yacht Performance is expanding its reach with the Hybrid Yacht Performance PT Certification, a program currently in development for 2025. This will be an accredited course that will train personal trainers and yacht crew to deliver elite-level fitness coaching onboard superyachts, filling a major gap in the industry.

HYP is set to disrupt the way yacht crew approach fitness. With its May 1st launch, the company is bringing structured, performance-driven training to the heart of yachting, ensuring that crew not only perform at their best but also thrive in one of the world’s most demanding industries.
