E-lixr is launching a $1.5 million capital raise aimed at producing the first two of its electric water taxis, while scaling its pilot service. The company is set to debut their advanced design and engineering concepts at upcoming industry events, where they will engage potential investors and partners, showcasing their bold vision for sustainable maritime and multi-modal transportation.
Designed for the future
E-lixr’s new electric water taxi is designed not only to revolutionize daily commuting of US workers and visitors, but also aims to completely redefine the passenger experience. CEO Sam Payrovi states; “Our vessel features a sleek design with an innovative, premium experience in mind. The seating arrangement facilitates social interaction, with materials chosen to warm the space, moving away from a utilitarian ferry style. It includes a bar onboard to enhance the social experience”
Capable of accommodating 32 passengers, the fully electric vessel is also equipped with autonomy assist features. The company will work closely with the U.S. Coast Guard to develop and approve semi-autonomous and captain assist functionalities, with the goal of achieving full autonomy in the future: “This initiative is not just about enhancing efficiency but also improving safety of both passengers and marine wildlife through advanced situational awareness”, comments Sam.
Targeting mobility investors with a vested interest in sustainability
E-lixr is seeking to attract investors aligned with hardware tech, mobility, transportation, energy sustainability, and blue tech sectors. As well as scaling their fleet, the capital raised will also be used to build out operational infrastructure, enhance their technology platform, and invest in further research and development focused on advanced marine propulsion technologies.
E-lixr intends to engage with investors at key industry events, such as the International Association of Transportation Regulators (IATR) Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Tech Weeks in San Francisco and Los Angeles, CoMotion LA, and the Zero Emission Ferries conference. They have carefully selected to showcase their innovation at these events because of their focus on urban mobility, sustainable transport, and technological innovation – all critical areas of interest for E-lixr’s vision.
Key milestones and future vision
Over the next 9 months, E-lixr will be focusing on several critical milestones, beginning with the completion of its final “Functional Design”’ phase, followed by securing U.S. Coast Guard approvals, and finally placing the first 2 vessels into production. The company has already launched a pre-electric pilot program, which has been a crucial step towards full-scale operations.
E-lixr aims to have its first electric water taxi service operating by Summer of next year: “By the middle of 2025, we aim to shift out of our ‘Pre-electric’ pilot and into the Phase 1 Intracoastal Waterway service, powered by the fully-electric E-lixr vessels. This will mark the full launch of our service.”
Industry professionals, potential investors, and partners are encouraged to meet the E-lixr team at CoMotion LA and the Zero Emission Ferries conference to learn more about their cutting-edge water transport service, and explore investment opportunities.
The team will also be attending the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (FLIBS), which runs from October 30th to November 3rd. To meet the team at FLIBS, contact: sam@elixr.miami.
