Seago develops a mobile app to streamline the yacht services and crew hiring process

As the yacht industry is growing rapidly, carrying an increasing demand for skilled labor, boat owners and captains are faced with the challenge of sourcing and hiring qualified workers in a timely and efficient manner. The lack of a centralised platform for connecting marine professionals with clients has hindered the process and led to frustration on both ends.

The Challenge

Given the heavy fragmentation of contractors in the industry, and, without a streamlined method for researching yacht services companies and crew, boat owners often resort to inefficient word-of-mouth referrals, generic web searches or printed magazines that yield incomplete and fragmented results. This not only wastes time but also causes boat owners to miss out on high-quality companies or right crew profiles, ultimately resulting in unnecessary costs.

By addressing the shortcomings of the current alternatives, Vincenzo Perfetti and his team developed Seago, a mobile app designed for the yacht industry and tailored on boat owners, businesses owners and crew needs. Vince is a Marine Biologist with a diverse background in the yacht industry. With over 13 years experience he has honed his skills as a RYA certified yacht captain, professional diver and owner of a yacht management company. Being daily in contact with boat owners, yacht services providers and crew, he noticed a substantial gap in the market for competitive apps and tools to streamline the hiring process.

The Solution

With Seago yacht services companies have the ability to create and manage profiles in order to promote their offerings to a targeted audience of potential customers. Each company can create a digital page on the app, providing information about the services offered, equipment, operating regions, GPS locations, dealerships and credentials.

Available yacht crew can create their digital profiles, with information, job experience, availability. At the same time yachts with open positions can list their job vacancies on the app, using different filters criteria which help to connect the yacht with right candidate in no time.

As a constantly expanding database, Seago delivers significant value to both marine companies and buyers by bridging informational gaps and facilitating mutually beneficial connections.

Feedbacks and future

During the testing phase in Phuket, Thailand, Seago was able to engage with a wide range of businesses and individuals operating in the yacht industry who provided the team with invaluable and extremely positive feedbacks. As result of the testing phase, Seago has already built a pipeline of 50 marine contractors who are eagerly awaiting the release of the app so that they can subscribe and take advantage of the benefits it offers.

On august 10th  2024, Vincenzo is thrilled to announce the release of Seago app on Apple and Google Stores, a highly anticipated moment for the team and users alike. This date marks a crucial and delicate time as Seago will be introduced to the world.

While this launch is a significant milestone, Vincenzo views it as just the beginning of a long journey ahead. The team at Seago is committed to continuous improvement and innovation, striving to enhance the app’s functionality and user experience with each update.

As the app makes its first steps, Vincenzo is excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for Seago. He envisions a future where the app integrates additional functions, like weather forecasts and navigation routes, and becomes the go-to tool in the yacht industry.
