Yachting Ventures renews partnership with International University of Monaco

Yachting Ventures renews key partnership with the business plan competition powered by the International University of Monaco (IUM).

The Mark Challenge is a business plan competition that connects students, alumni, academic professionals, and business leaders from all over the world. It aspires to support and showcase the next generation of entrepreneurs, foster innovative ideas and business concepts, and develop and promote essential entrepreneurial skills amongst international students and Alumni.

The 2022 edition of the competition saw 112 teams representing 46 international universities and business schools compete. This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the competition and it is set to be bigger and better than ever before - with incredible prizes up for grabs, and unparalleled networking opportunities.

Registrations are now open and will close on 3rd March, after which a jury will select the most promising applicants. The Grand Final will be held at the Monaco Yacht Club on 16th May, where a winner for each of the categories will be chosen and a prize will be awarded by Yachting Ventures and Young Professionals in Yachting (YPY) Monaco.

Dr. Annalisa Tarquini-Poli, Founder and Director of The Mark Challenge commented, "This is our 10th edition, and we are pleased to say that over the years, we have received many ideas from professionals and students at universities and business schools all over the world. Thanks to the kind contributions of professors, program directors, and jury members - who are crucial in assuring the impartiality of the selection process - we are able to organize this competition and create this amazing event year after year. We rely on you to ensure that the numbers rise in this edition, as they did in past years."

Yachting Ventures is a global startup hub for the leisure marine and yachting industries, providing the network, education, and opportunities that founders need to scale and raise investment. Commenting on the partnership, Gabbi Richardson, founder of Yachting Ventures said, “Recognising Monaco as one of the most important yachting destinations in the world, we are proud to be partnering with The Mark Challenge for a third time. The goal of this competition is deeply aligned with our mission to support and showcase entrepreneurs in the leisure marine

and yachting industries. Good luck to all the applicants!”

Monaco is one of the leaders in the mission to accelerate innovation in the leisure marine and yachting industries. There are several important events happening in the region this year, partly powered by the Monaco Capital of Advanced Yachting initiative supported by the Yacht Club de Monaco. In March, the Monaco Smart Yacht Rendezvous will take place as part of Monaco Ocean Week and the Energy Boat Challenge will take place in July this year.
