ENVGO has made history as the first Canadian company to win the prestigious Gustave Trouvé Award for Excellence in Electric Boats and Boating. This accolade highlights the growing momentum behind the company and the industry wide recognition of their innovative electric hydrofoiling boat, named NV1.
This award reflects the support of over 6,000 electric boating enthusiasts and the expert judgment of an international panel of 32 industry leaders, marking the first time a Canadian company has received this honor in the award’s five year history.
With the NV1 electric hydrofoiling boat, ENVGO is disrupting the leisure marine industry by presenting a design that not only delivers the unparalleled boating experience of flight over water, but also minimises environmental impact with no wake and zero emissions. The company is currently in the advanced testing phase of the NV1.
Prestigious recognition
The Gustave Trouvé awards (‘The Gussies’) were created to highlight innovators developing clean technologies in the leisure marine space, and are the only international awards that focus exclusively on electric boats.
This prestigious recognition validates ENVGO’s vision of pioneering high performance, clean energy boating. It highlights the NV1’s innovative technology and exclusive design, which combines cutting edge propulsion systems, hydrodynamic efficiency, and intuitive autonomy to deliver an unmatched experience of flight over water.
ENVGO CEO, Mike Peasgood commented, “The award is not just a win for ENVGO, it’s a testament to the broader movement toward sustainability and innovation in the marine industry. We are grateful to stand alongside other trailblazing nominees driving this transformation, thrilled to be honoured with this recognition, and excited to showcase NV1 as it now approaches market readiness.”
NV1 Progress
Following 4 years of development and testing, ENVGO is currently in the final phase of testing their demonstration prototype. With reservations already in place, their prototype will be used to showcase NV1 to additional interested buyers this summer.
“These demonstrations will give early adopters the opportunity to experience the innovation and flight performance that define ENVGO’s marine technology and, for an exclusive number of approved individuals, to own one of our limited NV1 Founders Edition models” commented Mike.
Fuelling growth
With reservations in place, ENVGO is currently raising seed investment dollars to bring the NV1 to the broader market in 2026. This funding will enable the company to scale orders, and further develop its autonomy stack, a hardware and AI-enabled software package designed to enhance ease of use and safety in boating.
The company will participate in key industry events in 2025, including the Miami International Boat Show, as well as plans to explore Dubai, Monaco, and others. These events provide opportunities to connect with existing partners and forge new collaborations across critical areas of the business.
