ARKHAUS, the pioneering developer of waterfront and overwater resort experiences, today announced that Steve Joyce, one of the most accomplished executives in global hospitality, has joined the company as Senior Hospitality Advisor.
In addition to his advisory role, Joyce has made a personal investment in ARKHAUS, underscoring his conviction in both the company’s vision and its leadership team.
Joyce serves as Executive Chairman of Aimbridge Hospitality — the world’s largest third-party hotel operator, managing over 1,500 properties across more than 65 countries and representing virtually every major global hotel brand. In that role, Joyce sits at the center of the global hospitality industry, with unparalleled visibility into operators, brands, and the partnerships that define best-in-class resort experiences.
His position at Aimbridge gives him a command of the hospitality landscape that few executives anywhere in the world can match — and it is precisely that depth of relationships and operational insight that ARKHAUS is bringing to bear.
Before assuming the chairmanship of Aimbridge, Joyce spent nearly a decade as President and CEO of Choice Hotels International, where he expanded the portfolio from nine to thirteen brands and grew the company to more than 6,700 hotels in over 45 countries. That tenure followed a 25-year career at Marriott International, where he rose to Executive Vice President of Global Development.
He has also served as CEO of Dine Brands Global and CEO of RE/MAX Holdings. Across more than four decades, Joyce has demonstrated a rare and consistent ability to build, scale, and professionalize hospitality platforms at the very highest levels of the industry.

In his role at ARKHAUS, Joyce will advise on the sourcing and negotiation of best-in-class partners — including operators, brands, technology providers, and hospitality specialists — as ARKHAUS works to establish ARKHAUS Resorts as the defining new category of destination resort experience, where waterfront and overwater environments meet world-class design and uncompromising guest experience.
“Steve doesn’t just know this industry — he currently chairs the company that operates more hotels than anyone else on earth,” said Sam Payrovi, Founder and CEO of ARKHAUS. “His decision to personally invest in ARKHAUS speaks louder than any endorsement we could ask for. He understands exactly what we’re building, and we are honored to have him helping us shape it.”
“ARKHAUS is doing something I haven’t seen before,” said Joyce. “The waterfront and overwater resort space is massively underserved at the level of quality and experience this team is targeting. I invested because I believe in the vision — and because I know from decades in this industry how transformative the right partnerships can be. I’m excited to help bring this to
life.”
Joyce’s involvement comes at a pivotal moment for ARKHAUS. With iconic Italian design house Pininfarina leading resort design and renowned American shipbuilder and fabricator Lyman Morse overseeing construction, ARKHAUS has already assembled a world-class team.
Joyce will help the company finalize the last few remaining partnerships, rounding out what is poised to be one of the most distinctive resort development teams ever assembled.
