A new platform built by the team behind SailTies, the sailing logbook app used by more than 35,000 sailors worldwide, is making offshore expeditions, blue-water passages and sail training bookable by the individual berth for the first time in one place.
SailTies Adventures launched in June 2026 at www.sailties.net/adventures, bringing together professionally crewed sailing trips from vetted operators across six continents.
Berths are bookable from £300, with trips ranging from RYA sail training courses to polar expeditions and offshore racing passages. The platform is available via the web and will launch on the SailTies app on iOS late June, with an Android update following in July.
Individual berths on sailing trips have long been available through a fragmented network of operators, sailing clubs and word of mouth.
SailTies Adventures consolidates that market into a single, searchable platform spanning four categories of trip, Training, Expedition, Cruising and Racing, with standardised listings, verified operators and straightforward online booking.
Berths suit a wide range of experience levels; in many cases, little or no prior sailing experience is required.
The platform draws on the established trust and community of SailTies, the sailing logbook and tracking app founded by RYA-qualified sailors Chris Jacobs and Thomas Guy.
With more than 40,000 sailors using the app worldwide to log passages, find crew and track voyages, SailTies Adventures launches with an existing audience of experienced sailors and a network of operators already familiar with the brand.
Among the trips available at launch is The Viking Route – a 1,100 nautical mile expedition passage from Nuuk, Greenland to Reykjavík, Iceland aboard SV Sea Dragon, operated by Panexplore.
The voyage features Brian Doyle, conservation photographer and expedition guide whose work has been published by National Geographic.
Doyle joins the crew as expedition guide and photography instructor, bringing field expertise in wildlife interpretation and environmental education to what is a fully hands-on ocean passage open to all experience levels, with berths on offer at a special introductory price of £2,691 per person.
“The trips have always existed. What has not existed is a single, reliable place to find them,” said Mike Pickering, who leads the commercial launch of SailTies Adventures.
Pickering co-founded kraken.travel, where he spent years demonstrating the depth of unmet demand for individual berths on sailing trips.
“SailTies Adventures fixes that. Book a berth, turn up, and go sailing. The crew are sorted. The boat is ready. The technology makes it scalable. The people make it trustworthy.”
“Everything we build starts from being sailors ourselves,” said Chris Jacobs, co-founder of SailTies. “We know how hard it has been to find the kind of trips that genuinely inspire you. SailTies Adventures exists to fix that.”
Dozens of trips are live at launch across offshore racing, blue-water cruising, polar expeditions, coastal adventure and sail training, with new operators joining the platform regularly.
SailTies Adventures is available now at www.sailties.net/adventures.
