ampStay, the developer of the world’s first flexible wind turbine for sailing yachts, has completed all testing and development phases and is now launching a seed financing round to scale production and accelerate market entry.
The company’s turbine has been rigorously validated under extreme conditions on land and at sea, demonstrating performance, durability, and adaptability across a range of environments.
ampStay’s wind turbine rotates around a tensioned steel cable, the yacht’s backstay, offering unprecedented flexibility and efficiency. Its modular, helix-inspired design allows operation at any angle, in any environment, making it suitable not only for luxury yachts but also for alpine infrastructure and other niche applications.
The system features a maintenance-free Axial-Flux generator and performs efficiently even at low wind speeds, setting a new benchmark for sustainable energy autonomy.
“This is a milestone for ampStay and a big step ahead for the future of wind energy in a very promising and wealthy niche,” said Harald Hackenberg, founder and CEO of ampStay. “Our technology is ready to disrupt markets that have long been overlooked by conventional solutions.

With this seed round, we will ramp up production, expand our team, and bring our game-changing turbine to customers who need sustainable and autonomous electric power, wherever they are.”
The funds raised will support pre-series and series production to meet growing demand from early adopters, many of whom have already pre-ordered turbines. Investment will also enable sales acceleration in key markets, particularly the green yachting sector, and strengthen global distribution capabilities as the company scales operations.
ampStay has received recognition from the EU’s Blue-Invest program and collaborates with industry leaders to advance renewable energy solutions. These endorsements highlight the turbine’s potential to expand sustainable power access in locations and conditions unsuitable for conventional wind turbines.
As ampStay enters this next phase, the company is inviting impact-driven investors to join its mission of making wind power usable anywhere, from the open seas to remote infrastructures, while maintaining a focus on efficiency, reliability, and environmental sustainability.
